Here is the newest edition of the Paratus Report! This episode covers the new pistol qualification course and Shutter Shootout!
Pistol Qualification Course:
A new pistol qualification course has been pilot tested by Coast Guard members and implementation has begun. This is the first restructuring of the course in more than four decades.
Petty Officer 1st Class Nathanael Kruse, maritime enforcement specialist at Sector Puget Sound, talks about the new course and the positive impacts that it will make for the field.
Shutter Shootout 2017:
Each district sent in their best photos that tell the coast guard's story. Now it's up to you to cast your vote for the winner! Like march madness brackets, coast guard districts and units will compete against each other in rounds. The photos with the most likes will advance until a winner is decided.
To place your vote, visit to coast guard's official Facebook and Twitter. You are encouraged to share the posts on your pages to encourage more votes for your favorite!
