Dynamic Front II is a live-fire artillery exercise that took place in the Grafenwoehr Training Area from February 26 – March 9, 2017. The exercise would give fire support command and control systems from different nations the opportunity to conduct fire missions together using the Artillery Systems Cooperation Activities, or ASCA digital interface. France, Italy, Germany, Turkey and the United States are using the ASCA system with more nations petitioning to be part of the group. Artillery was the focus of this exercise, but commanders from NATO, partner nations, and the U.S. Army used this opportunity to conduct multi-echelon fires.
