Two C-130 Hercules aircraft from the 144th Airlift Squadron land on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, after a final formation flight over Denali National Park, March 4, 2017. Current and former Alaska Air National Guardsmen gathered following the flight to bid farewell to the mighty Hercules. After 41 years of the C-130 tactical airlift mission at the 176th wing, the planes were being transferred to outside units or retired from service. The unit’s last two aircraft departed JBER March 5.
