STARBASE Swamp Fox, a Department of Defense math and science program for fifth-graders, held a special ceremony Sunday to celebrate its tenth anniversary of being hosted at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. Brig. Gen. (Ret.) John “Coach” Motley, director of STARBASE Swamp Fox, was the program’s master of ceremonies and emphasized the program’s success is due to the total team effort put forward. STARBASE Swamp Fox moved to McEntire ten years ago, partnering with military personnel to assist the fifth-graders with career exploration and observation of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) applications in the real world.
