Red Flag is the U.S. Air Forces premier air-to-air combat training exercise. Participants often include both United States and allied nations' combat air forces. The exercise provides aircrews the experience of multiple, intensive air combat sorties in the safety of a training environment. The KC-135 is a statrotanker that supports air-to-air refueling. This tanker refuels F-16J fighter jets from the 20th Fighter Wing, 77th Fighter Squadron, Shaw AFB, SC.
