ARABIAN SEA (Jan. 31, 2017) Sailors fire the MK 38 25-mm Machine Gun, the Close in Weapons System and the MK 45 5-inch gun aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Mahan (DDG 72) during Exercise Unified Trident 17's gunnery exercise. Unified Trident is a multilateral maritime exercise with the U.S. Navy, Royal Navy, Australian Royal Navy and French Marine Nationale to enhance mutual capabilities, improve tactical proficiency and strengthen partnerships in ensuring the free flow of commerce and freedom of navigation within the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
