On June 6th, 1944, three small vessels were assigned to guide landing craft through a labyrinth of underwater mines and obstacles to Utah Beach. Only one, LCC-60 made it across the channel to perform that mission. The vessels commander, Navy Lieutenant Howard Vander Beek, carried LCC-60’s flag home with him, and now seven decades later, that flag has found a new home. A1C Ericha Guyote found out where.
