    Fort Riley Public Affairs Office

    The 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley, KS, held a ceremony on September 11, 2016 in commemoration of the attacks of September 11, 2001 on the World Trade Center Towers and the Pentagon. The ceremony also memorialized a Fort Riley soldier killed in the Global War On Terrorism, adding SSG Joseph Stifter to the names engraved on the Fort Riley Global War On Terrorism Monument. Primary remarks were given by Brig. Gen. Patrick D. Frank, Deputy Commanding General, 1st Infantry Division. A wreath was also laid at the monument by Brig. Gen. Frank and Command Sergeant Major Stephens. Ceremony music was provided by the 1st Infantry Division Band.
