Maintaining the health of the entire installation can seem overwhelming. With 9 clinics, the 97th Medical Group ensures that Airmen and their families have access to quality care. But there's a unique team that underpins the entire mission here and without them the whole show would stop.
"We provide all the medical supplies and medical equipment for the entire med group allowing us to support a little over 6,000 beneficiaries."
The med group supply section keeps a steady flow of the necessary medical supplies and equipment to Altus Air Force Base. Daily, they inventory every single order that our airmen and their families require, keeping the medical mission on track.
"People don't realize what we do until we don't do it or we are not able to do it and then they need something and then they come to us and realize, it's just one of those jobs they need something and then they come to us and realize, it's just one of those where we're in the background. But without us, you don't function."
And functioning, healthy airmen keep the the mission going. For Altus Air Force Base, I'm Airman James Johnson.
