MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. — Brigadier Gen. Ray Descheneaux speaks about exercise Rim of the Pacific 2016, aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., June 22, 2016. Descheneaux is the commanding general of Fleet Marine Forces Pacific. RIMPAC is the largest maritime exercise in the world involving 26 different countries to date. This exercise provides a unique opportunity for the Marine Corps to hone their maritime and amphibious capabilities and to build upon established relationships, enhance their lines of communication and foster regional stability with multinational partners.
