In 2015, a USAID-funded project gave small grants to 92 high school students to start their promising business ideas. Doaa Mohamed Bakr, 18, from Upper Egypt was one of the winners. She goes to an agricultural secondary school supported by USAID that prepares students for jobs in agriculture, one of Egypt's largest employment sectors. USAID in Egypt invests in technical high school education as part of a larger strategy to boost economic growth by increasing productivity and employability of Egypt's youth.
