Aircraft from Joint Base Charleston participate in a large formation exercise on May 26, 2016, as part of the exercise Crescent Reach 2016. The exercise evaluated the 437th Airlift Wing ability to generate and launch a large aircraft formation, thereby supporting America's Global Response Force. A total of twelve C-17 Globemaster IIIs from Joint Base Charleston participated in this exercise. The aircraft assisted Army paratroopers at Fort Bragg, N.C.
