    Petty Officer 2nd Class Aaron Eckstein and Petty Officer 3rd Class Jordan Gilbert, aviation survival technicians at Coast Guard Air Station Astoria, Ore., are lowered from an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter to conduct the medical evacuation of a kayaker who was reportedly injured after plunging 80 feet down Spirit Falls in Skamania County, Wash., April 16, 2016.

    Once on scene, Eckstein and Gilbert transferred the man from local emergency medical responders to Coast Guard rescue equipment to complete the hoist. The crew then flew the kayaker directly to medical care personnel at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.
