The Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Kentucky (SSBN 737) transits the Hood Canal as the boat returns to Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor following the boat's first strategic deterrent patrol since 2011. The boat recently completed a 40-month Engineered Refueling Overhaul, which will extend the life of the submarine for another 20 years.
