Savannah Corps Forester Aaron Murphy uses diaphragm calls, which are horseshoe-shaped frames consisting of layers of thin latex or rubber reeds to mimic four distinct turkey calls: yelping, clucking, putting and purring. Murphy participated in Thurmond Lake's Turkey Hunt April 1 along with a handful of hopefuls looking to harvest one or more Eastern Wild Turkeys who inhabit the stretch of public land.
