After pushing through the last nine miles of the Crucible, the 54-hour culminating event of recruit training, Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, arrived at the Iwo Jima flag raising statue April 2, 2016, on Parris Island, S.C. Upon completion of the Crucible’s last hike, each recruit finally earned the title Marine, making this the defining moment of the previous 12 weeks of training. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate during Parris Island’s centennial celebration April 8, 2016.
