The 249th Airlift Squadron, Air National Guard, is the first C-17 crew stationed in Alaska to deliver supplies to the Navy's Arctic Submarine Laboratory located on an ice floe in the Arctic Ocean. The temporary camp is being established to maintain submarine readiness and support arctic objectives and initiatives.
