Contains B-Roll from the 71st Commemoration of the Battle of Iwo Jima tour of Camp Pendleton. Veterans were introduced to several aircraft including the MV-22 Osprey and the AH-1 Cobra, and medical personnel/ capabilities during the tour aboard Camp Pendleton. The commemoration also consisted of a tour of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, a memorial service, and a reenactment of the historical flag raising over a three day period at various sites throughout Marine Corps Installations -West. The Battle of Iwo Jima began February 19th, 1945. The 36-day assault resulted in more than 26,000 American casualties, including 6,800 dead.
