Leaders of 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, participated in a warrior skills challenge Dec. 6, 2015 near Camp Beuhring, Kuwait. The event commemorated “Operation Husky,” an Allied invasion of Sicily conducted in 1943 during WW2. Tasks conducted by the 66 “Thunder” Soldiers included day and night stress-firing of rifles and pistols, a 12-mile ruck march route which featured a memorization drill, tactical vehicle preventative maintenance, medical and grenade lanes
