A specialized recovery team assigned to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency resumed
operations in Dien Bien province, Vietnam, Nov. 6-Dec. 11, 2015, in the search of
two crewmembers of an F-4C aircraft lost during the Vietnam War. Excavations with wet
screen structures require periodic maintence to conitnue efficiency. Footage includes
screen repair, pump maintenance, the cleaning of silt ponds as well as controlling water
damage. DPAA, in its continued commitment to find and repatriate lost Service members,
conducts global search, recovery and laboratory operations to support the Department of
Defense’s personnel accounting efforts. DPAA deploys teams from its operational office
based at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii to provide the fullest possible accounting
of missing personnel to their families and the nation.
