Capt. Daniel Naske talks about planning and conducting Exercise Ultimate Reach. Approximately 500 members of the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, partnered with 18th Air Force C-17 Globemaster III crews from Joint Base Charleston, S.C., Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, for Exercise Ultimate Reach 16, Nov. 4, in Spain. Ultimate Reach in an annual U.S. Transportation Command-sponsored live-fly exercise designed to evaluate 18th Air Force's transportation units' ability to plan and conduct strategic airdrop missions. Ultimate Reach 16 is a sub-exercise of Exercise Trident Juncture, NATO's largest global exercise in 20 years, which consists of 36,000 troops from more than 35 NATO nations.
