The best Soldier and NCO results were announced among additional placements from this year's Department of the Army Best Warrior Competition during the award ceremony at AUSA in Washington, DC October 12, 2015. Representing the National Guard, Spc. Cruser Barnes from the Hawaii Army National Guard took second place, receiving the award for Runner-Up in the Best Soldier category. Also representing the National Guard, Sgt. Robert Cunningham of the West Virginia Army National Guard received honorable mention for his achievement of completing the 12-mile ruck march event with the fastest time among his other NCO competitors.
