Marines and sailors assigned to Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, conducted Mountain Warfare Training Exercise 5-15 aboard Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center Bridgeport, Calif., Sept. 7-17, 2015. The high-intensity training covered maneuvering tactically through mountainous terrain using rope climbing and rappelling techniques as well as survival tactics in rugged environments to enhance Marines' and sailors' abilities to fight in austere circumstances.
