The 2nd BCT, 82nd Abn. Div. provided the Joint Forcible Entry operation in support of NIE 16.1, the final proof of concept exercise for the Army Warfighting Assessments that focuses on exploring new ideas for technology, tactics and concepts. NIE 16.1 began in late September and runs through early October and includes more than 10,000 U. S. Army Soldiers and Air Force personnel, as well as allied partners from the United Kingdom, Italy and other NATO countries.
