A Joint 9-11 commemoration ceremony was held Friday at the Kit Carson Memorial Park at Gate 1.
In the ceremony, all four military services, Canadian forces and all the major military installations in Colorado Springs were represented in the event.
The guest speakers will be Maj. Gen. Ryan F. Gonsalves, Fort Carson and 4th Infantry Division commanding general, Deputy Chief Vince Niski, Colorado Springs Police Department Patrol Bureau and U.S. Senator Cory Gardner. Following remarks, wreaths will be laid at the 9-11 memorial in the park. The ceremony will conclude with a moment of silence.
