The 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division deployed to the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, CA in July 2015 for Operation Dragon Spear. Leading up to the operation, the 37th Engineer Battalion go into the hills of the Mojave Desert to train on combined arms breaching techniques. The Sappers employ the Anti Personnel Breaching Systems (APOBS) to prepare for upcoming live fires with the 1-325th Airborne Infantry Regiment where they will use the same tactics to enable entry into an enemy compound.
