U.S. Marine Cpl. Ryan Jackson speaks about instructing Marines on how to teach a Marine Corps Martial Arts Course aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23). Jackson is a rifleman and a martial arts instructor trainer with Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Jackson goes above and beyond his normal duties as a rifleman to take on the challenge of being an instructor trainer for MCMAP. Anchorage is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th MEU, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
