The video shows the Oregon soldiers setting up the "footprint", evacuating and treating casualties from a simulated hurricane disaster. Vigilant Guard is a United States Northern Command and National Guard Bureau sponsored exercise. The program provides an opportunity for the State of Hawaii, the Hawaii National Guard (HING) in particular, to improve collaborative efforts in regards to emergency preparation, coordination, response and recovery management with federal, regional, local, civilian and military partners during domestic emergencies and catastrophic events.
