Marines with Marine Attack Squadron 311 (VMA) perform short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) with AV-8B Harrier jets aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) June 9, 2015. The aircraft are with VMA-311, currently assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) as the aviation combat element. The 31st MEU is the only continuously forward deployed MEU in the Marine Corps and is currently conducting Fall Patrol 2015.(U. S. motion imagry by Lance Cpl. Cody R. Woods)
