In support of National Dam Safety Awareness Day (May 31), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District will post brief updates throughout the month of May about our Dam Safety Program.
Did you know that dam safety is a part of everyday activity at Addicks and Barker dams? These structures are staffed five days per week with project operations personnel capable of responding around the clock seven days a week. Project personnel inspect the dam daily during normal operating conditions and more frequently at high pool levels.
