Philippine and U.S. Marines participate in a simulated combined amphibious assault shoulder-to-shoulder at the Naval Education Training Center in the Philippines, April 21. They came ashore in amphibious assault vehicles to take a hostile beach head during the simulated assault. The training event was the start of exercise Combined Vigilance, the Philippine and U.S. Marine field training exercise within Balikatan 2015. The amphibious landing was fully integrated in planning and execution to highlight both nations’ growing ship-to-shore capabilities.
