The 11th Airmobile Brigade from the Netherlands is developing and testing the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) during part one of Exercise Noble Jump. Soundbites from Coronel Mariusz Lewicki, senior planner of SHAPE, one of the senior planners of the VJTF, and Brigadier General Kees Matt Hijssen, the 11th Airmobile Brigade, NRF commander and Interim VJTF commander.

    1. (00:00) Soundbite, Coronel Mariusz Lewicki. Senior Planner of SHAPE. One of the Senior Planners of the VJTF.
“We are just about to start our depth discussions. Trying to find out what are the shortfalls and what are the successes of this operation here today. The next step of the exercise will be its second phase, which is the so called deployments, so we will be testing deployability of the forces. It will take place in Poland, in June this year, and several NATO nations will take part in the exercise, including some of the ones taking part in today’s exercise.”
    2. (00:36) Soundbite, Brigadier General Kees Matt Hijssen. The 11th Airmobile Brigade, NRF Commander and Interim VJTF Commander.
“This week was a national alert exercise, the next one will be multinational. So within the VJTF setting, together with national partners, but this is truly a multinational effort. And if I look at the international cooperation within the Nato Response Force (NRF) this year, together with our Norwegian, our German, and our Belgian colleagues this year, that’s working out very fine. And I think it’s a good example, a worthwhile example of a military cooperation within NATO.” “But what is new is the 48 hours. That is a much shorter notice move than we had in Nato Response Force (NRF) on the regular basis. So that also means, that you have to applied you procedures and fit them in the 48 hours. Like I said, to make sure that the soldiers, with their equipment, in time move out. And the latest group of the initial movement, which is a spearhead element valid group size, approximately 800 or 800 plus soldiers, that the latest group moves out no later than 48 hours.”
