Marines, with 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division trained in embassy reinforcement tactics Feb. 13-15 aboard Camp Upsher, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. The goal of the Continental U.S. Based Alert Force training exercise was to ensure a battalion-sized force could deploy and set up within a 96 hour time frame, and reorganize into a larger force if necessary.
