In early September, 2014, Senior Airman Jake Sorosiak gave Bradley Oehlers, a 32-yeqr-old man with cerebral palsy a gift of two thousand dollars for a trip to Disney World, showing that even one person can make a huge difference in a life.
Jake Sorosiak:
Since I’ve been really little, there’s always been a boy that sits outside on Alexis Road. I’d known him as a boy and he sits outside every day, and he rocks back and forth in his chair and watches the cars go by. I’ve always said to myself, one day, I’m going to take him to Disney World, one day. It was something that I wanted to do for myself. Occasionally I’d tell my family or I’d tell my friends, you know, that’s the boy I’m going to take to Disney World one day.
I told myself that once I get a real job when I get older, I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna go to that family and give them my first couple of pay checks, and just give it to them and tell them the story.
When I put my head to something, I usually do it. No matter what, if you want to do something, you have to push yourself to do it. It’s something that’s been internal, inside of me, and I don’t know. It’s just been something that has pushed me since I did it.

Since Jake’s first gift to the Oehlers family, members of the community have come together to pay it forward, donating money, well wishes and even a time share to send their entire family on the vacation of a lifetime.
