More than 85 Marines with 2nd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, conducted a live-fire assault training exercise with the Expeditionary Fire Support System, Amphibious Assault Vehicles and CH-53E Super Stallion Helicopters here, July 30-31. Using the Internally Transportable-Striking Vehicle to make the 120 mm mortar a mobile artillery piece, the Marines executed an amphibious assault on Onslow Beach and an aerial raid mission concluding in the live engagement of targets up to five kilometers away.
