Tops in Blue is a music ensemble created in 1953 to boost morale for Airmen all over the world. Airman First Class Franchesca Pancham reports from their performance on Andersen Air Force Base.
Reporter:
The Air Force’s traveling music group, known as Tops in Blue, stopped at Andersen recently to perform for our members on base. Tops in Blue shared their 60th anniversary with the theme of “Traditions.” The music ensemble was created as a moral boost for Airmen all over the world. Their performance consisted of a variety of genres including soul, country, pop and even Disney songs. What was your favorite part?
A1C Lance Easter, Medical Technician, 36th MDG:
“When they had some of the Disney characters come up and Despicable me, frozen and the little hamsters, love those guys”
1st LT Alicia Ferris, Contracting Administrator, 36th CONS
“Do I have to pick one? I actually loved the whole thing, the guys dancing you know the costume changes and everything it was awesome and the singing was really good and I cant really pick one part, the whole show was just amazing. “
Reporter:
The overall performance made a lasting impression on the audience. Not only did participants enjoy the music and dancing, but also how Tops in Blue brought families together through this memorable night. Reporting from Andersen AFB, Guam, I’m Airman First Class Franchesca Pancham.
