The high-tempo and ground pounding US Air Force Special Operations training exercise known as Emerald Warrior recently took place at strategic training areas across the Southern United States. The joint military exercise was designed to better prepare our military forces to prosecute the global war on terrorism and to assist our interagency partners in the protection of the United States from foreign and domestic enemies.
The 2014 event included an increased role taken by the Mississippi National Guard as the combined Air and Army National Guardsmen hosted up to one-third of the exercise’s training at the Gulfport CRTC and Camp Shelby.
A strategic component of the 2014
exercise provided a joint training opportunity for the Mississippi National Guard and the Israeli Air Force at the Gulfport CRTC.
