The United States is participating in a humanitarian relief effort in various portions of Guatemala. The effort is called ‘Beyond the Horizon-Guatemala’. These efforts are spearheaded by U.S. Army South and members from the active Army, Reserve Component and the National Guard. They come from all across the United States and meet in Guatemala to assist in humanitarian relief efforts. The 63rd Signal Battalion provides network links to the task force and 56th Signal Battalion provides the internal communication for task force missions. They both play a vital role ensuring the safety and success of the operation.
