Republic of Albania Ambassador to the United States of America, Gilbert Galanxhi, stopped at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst to watch as 24 members of the Albanian Armed Forces move into the second phase of Officer Candidate School (OCS).
The OCS program is being conducted by the New Jersey Army National Guard through the end of July. It is the first time a state’s National Guard will train foreign military officer candidates as part of the State Partnership Program (SPP)
Ambassador Galanxhi placed the first blue ascot around the neck of the cadet platoon leader marking the successful completion of the first of three phases of officer training. The 12-week course of instruction combines classroom with practical exercises to teach the future leaders of the Albanian military.
Just like the active OCS program at Fort Benning, Ga. the cadets will quickly learn varied facets of military operations, leadership; and have their mental and physical abilities strengthen. Available in high definition.
