The USS Firebolt (PC-10) is the tenth member of the Cyclone-class of coastal patrol boats and is currently homeported in Manama, Bahrain. The primary mission of these ships is coastal patrol and interdiction surveillance, an important aspect of littoral operations outlined in the Navy's strategy, "Forward...From the Sea." Mission tasking for forward based PC’s consist of Maritime Security Operations (MSO) in the Northern Arabian Gulf (NAG), protection of Iraq’s oil terminals and sea based infrastructure, as well as Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) tasking.
