A Coast Guard HC-130 Hercules aircraft crew from Air Station Barbers Point locates the crew of a 16 foot skiff Oct. 5, 2012, approximately 110 miles southwest of Tarawa, the Republic of Kiribati.

The three-man crew, a 20-year-old and two 55-year-olds, had been missing and overdue since Oct. 1, 2012. The Coast Guard aircrew requested a Good Samaritan vessel assist with picking up the three mariners. The crew aboard the South Korean fishing vessel, the Universe Kim, proceeded to the position of the skiff to recover the three mariners. The crew of the Universe Kim transferred the crewmembers aboard their vessel. They also picked up their 16-foot skiff with a crane and brought it aboard. The three mariners were reported to be in good condition and with no injuries.
