MIAMI - Crewmembers aboard the cutter Dauntless located a sail-freighter approximately 20 miles south of Great Inagua, Bahamas, May 9. The crew launched two small boats and distributed life jackets to the migrants.
Shotly thereafter, approximately 30-to-40 of the Haitian migrants fell overboard. Coast Guard crews immediately begin pulling the migrants from the water into their smallboats, resulting in zero loss of life.
