SAN FRANCISCO (APRIL 19, 2008)-Maj. Gen. Thomas Csrnko, Commanding General, U.S. Army Special Forces (Airborne), speaks at Silver Star presentation ceremony on Yerba Buena Island. Staff Sgt. Roger Hallberg was posthumously awarded the Silver Star by the U.S. Army for extreme courage in battle in Vietnam 41 years earlier. Maj. Gen. Csrnko presented the award to Hallberg's mother, Doris Cobb Hallberg. The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter George Cobb, which was named for Hallberg's grandfather, held the ceremony a lighthouse keeper in Northern California.
