SEATTLE - Coast Guard Port Security Unit (PSU) 313, homeported in Tacoma, Wash., conducted a boat tactic exercise July 13 and 14 in Port Townsend Bay off the shore of Naval Magazine Indian Island.
The unit is training members for Tactical Boat Crew Qualifications that are necessary to ensure every member has the proper knowledge to perform their important roles in protecting American-occupied waterways and ports.
As part of this training event, the crewmembers will spend three days living in tents on the island and be required to fire weapons using 7.62mm and .50 caliber blanks. Some crewmembers acted as oppositional forces and set up different scenarios for the training.
