Soldiers from 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne) starting and completing the twelve mile march at Caserma Del Din September 20, 2013 and receiving their Expert Infantry Badge in a ceremony after a week of testing covering numerous events including three task lanes, a physical fitness test, and day and night land navigation courses. More than 600 candidates started the testing, but only 79 Soldiers earned the badge.
