Lt. Col. Erik Krivda, commander of the 5th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, explains the history of the "Spur Ride" and its importance to the cavalry unit. Krivda's squadron, stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, recently held a spur ride for its troopers June 26, 2013. After almost 24 hours of rigorous tasks 49 of the original 57 troopers earned their spurs. Available in high definition.
