U.S. Marines with Third Marine Aircraft Wing (3rd MAW) returned home on 18 February 2013 following a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. 3rd MAW (forward) completed a year-long tour as the aviation combat element for Regional Command-Southwest, where it provided close air support, air assault and transportation for International Security Assistance Force-Afghanistan troops in southern Afghanistan.
