Interviews for the Texas Army National Guard's farewell ceremony for the U.S. Army Apache A-model at Ellington Field in Houston, Texas, July 15, 2012. The event marked the retirement of the last A-model Apache aircraft in the Army inventory, as the fleet shifts to more recent models. The last unit of the model series, this AH-64A Apache, tail number 90-00451, served overseas in several key engagements since its date of manufacture in 1993. It will go on to be upgraded to a D-Model Longbow by the Boing company and the Apache Aviation team. Interviewees include Maj. Robert Guevara, executive officer, 1-149th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, Lt. Col. Scott Kingsley, executive officer, 36th Combat Aviation Brigade, and Lt. Col.
