This edition features a story on the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, who visited Rhode Island recently to promote her joining forces initiative which focuses community awareness of the struggles and sacrifices of military families. Mrs. Obama met with 15 military spouses from all five services, including two from the Rhode Island National Guard. In addition to bringing about community understanding for the special challenges military families face, Mrs. Obama listened to spouses discussing issues that directly affect them.
