The last White Alice tower to come down in Alaska recently was taken down in Bethel, Alaska. The White Alice has been a landmark for Bethel since the 1950's. Though due to the possibility of hazards from the "Galbestos" - a form of asbestos - that is in the tower, it was taken down on August 27th, 2011.
